I am in enthusiastic support of purchase of the largest Diamond Drive parcel proposed to be used for the Social Services hub. It is long past time to move forward with the hub, for which the need has long been acknowledged. This is not only an unusually convenient location but will also negate the temptation for the County to consider rezoning an open space parcel as an alternative location. I cannot imagine a more ideal situation to finally address this Council strategic leadership goal.

I am against this purchase. It is being rushed by the seller. It is 1) not reasonable to buy property with taxpayer $ for millions above the assessed value, and 2) Council doesn't know if you are representing the town resident's choice. Has the Council independently verified the actual cost of the clean up work, AND that all work required before construction can begin has been 100% COMPLETED? Or are you simply accepting the seller's word? As a final point, the County should NOT be a landlord.

The purchase and development of this property by the County will provide much needed opportunities in multiple areas. Many of the people would benefit from the development of a Social Services Hub don’t have the time, ability, or energy to appeal to the Council on their own behalf. Do what a small mob of angry, emotional, and ill-informed persons (not a good choice in any situation) or trust and honor your commitment to act in ways that maximizes benefit to the most county residents.

I am totally against this purchase. The seller wants the council to pay for over priced property. What really bothers me is that the county manager is recommending to buy the property. This does not pass the smell test. It stinks.
