I encourage Council to consider submitting a Resolution of Support to the National Park Service regarding selection of the preferred NPS option for management of our neighbor, the Valles Caldera National Preserve, for the next 15-20 years. Developing the Preserve to provide a real national park type visitor experience can be expected to increase visitation to our area and encourage longer stays. Our county stands to benefit economically if that plan comes to fruition.
